Tiger Woods is said to be awake, responsive and recovering following a crash in Los Angeles that left him with serious injuries to his right leg.
Doctors say a long surgical procedure resulted in rods, pins and screws being inserted in order to stabilize the injuries.
Authorities have not said what caused Woods to hit a road sign, cross over a raised median and two oncoming lanes before toppling down an embankment, although police have said there is no evidence he was impaired.
