Saskatchewan company seeks growers for ancient grain called Quinoa

A Saskatoon-based company is looking for farmers to grow an ancient grain from South America called Quinoa.

The farm service representative of Northern Quinoa Production corporation, Lane Christianson, says the company sees good demand around the world for the healthy grain.

Christianson says Quinoa can provide gross returns of 800 dollars per acre.

His company offers seeds, cleaning, contracts and agronomy support.

He says there were 30 farmers involved last year and he sees good growth potential.
