Saskatchewan cruised to a 9-3 victory over Newfoundland and Labrador Thursday night at the Scotties in Calgary to clinch first place in Pool “B” with a 6-2 record.
The top four teams from each pool now move into a Championship Pool, where the top three will move into the playoffs, the first place team will receive a bye straight to the final.
Saskatchewan will open Championship Pool play Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. against defending champions Keri Einarson and Canada, who finished 7-1 in Pool “A”.
They’ll then face Team Wild Card 3 Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
