Last Mountain Distillery once again awarded several medals at Canadian Whisky Awards

Last Mountain Distillery based in Lumsden has cleaned up again at the Canadian Whisky Awards.

Whiskies coming from Last Mountain have won two gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze. Their Single Cast Wheat Whisky also won the award for Best Wheat Whisky.

Spokesperson Braeden Raiwet says it’s a major accomplishment.

“To get compared to some of the big distilleries that have been in production for years and years, that are putting out 12, 15 year-old whiskies, and some of our 5-year-old stuff to be right there on par, and beating some of them, kind of goes to speak for how some of the craft distilling is going in Saskatchewan,” said Raiwet.

The Canadian Whisky Awards are handed out based on a nation-wide blind taste-test by an independent panel of judges.
