A Regina court is to hear arguments Friday, over whether there should be a delay in a lawsuit linked to the deadly Humboldt Broncos bus crash in April of 2018.
Sixteen people were killed and 13 were injured when semi-truck blew through a stop sign and into the path of the junior hockey team’s bus near Tisdale, Saskatchewan.
In all, 11 lawsuits have been filed by victims and their families.
Lawyers for a proposed class action want a judge to delay another suit filed shortly after the crash for at least a year, until their matter is considered for certification.
The five families behind the earlier lawsuit say they are ready to go ahead and a delay would cause them more pain.
