Yorkton RCMP charge Regina residents following break and enters

A man and woman from Regina are facing multiple charges after a single-vehicle collision and break and enters that occurred on the evening of March 5.

Yorkton RCMP first responded to a call just after 5:00 p.m. of complaints regarding an erratic driver departing Yorkton travelling west on Highway 52.

Police were told the vehicle was allegedly cutting off other vehicles and driving at incoming traffic before colliding into the ditch and coming to a stop. Two individuals were seen fleeing the scene of the collision.

When police arrived at the scene and began searching for the vehicle’s occupants, RCMP were called to a nearby house where the homeowner noticed two unknown people inside their home peeking through the window. The homeowner stayed outside until police arrived, however the suspects fled the home before RCMP arrived.

Officers followed the tracks left behind by the suspects with assistance from Yorkton RCMP Police Dog Services, leading to a second home nearby. The two individuals were seen inside the second residence, prompting RCMP to receive permission from the homeowners to enter the house and make arrests. The owners of the second residence were not home at the time of the arrests.

Victoria Isaac and Drew Cyr were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries believed to be caused by the collision. Both Cyr and Isaac face multiple charges including three counts of break and enter.

Isaac and Cyr made their first court appearances on Monday in Yorkton Provincial Court.
