On Wednesday night, around 8:00 pm, a Regina Police investigator in plain clothes noticed a vehicle, that had been reported stolen, parked in a lot on the 2000 block of Edgar Street.
Shortly after the vehicle was spotted, it drove away through the South-Central area of the city. Eventually, the suspect headed towards Lacon Street, where officers deployed a tire deflation device. The vehicle carried on despite both driver’s side tires being flat. The vehicle came to a stop a short time later on Francis Street and 14th Avenue, where the driver excited the vehicle.
Officers noticed a man walking in the area and with the assistance of the K-9 Unit, they were able to confirm the man was the driver of the suspect vehicle.
23-year-old Dalton John Heska-Lupanko has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, 2 counts of failure to comply with a condition of a release order and driving a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
Heska- Lupanko made his first appearance in court on Thursday.
