A 17-year-old girl is dead after a school stabbing south of Edmonton

Police in Alberta say two students involved in a fatal attack at a school south of Edmonton knew each other, but are not saying if the victim was targeted.

A 17-year-old girl died of her injuries following the incident at Christ the King School in Leduc, which the city’s mayor says was a stabbing.

A 19-year-old male student from the same school is in police custody.
