Sask. government proclaims March 14th to 20th as Agricultural Safety Week

The Saskatchewan government has proclaimed this week as Agricultural Safety week in the province.

Agriculture Minister David Marit says farming can be a dangerous occupation and safety must be a priority year round.

He wants farmers and the public to be especially aware during spring, when equipment is on the move on roadways for spring seeding.

This year’s theme, Lead an Ag Safe Canada, is the second of a three year farm safety campaign, Safe and Strong farms.

The federal government is providing $1.4-million to the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association for an awareness campaign around farm safety.
