Those who have lost their life as a result of getting the COVID-19 virus in Saskatchewan has hit 430 after the announcement of eight deaths on Friday.  That is the biggest one-day total since February 3.

Seven of the eight deaths are from the Regina zone. Three of the people were over the age of 80, three were in their 60’s and one was in their 50’s.

In all. there are 213 new cases to report.  Regina continues to see the bulk of them with 104.  The other new cases are located  in the Far North West (4), Far North East (5), North West (10), North Central (9), North East (8), Saskatoon (34), Central West (1), Central East (3),  South Central (14) and South East (13) zones.

There are 148 recoveries meaning the active case count is now at 1,680

155 people are in hospital which is one more from Thursday’s report with 24 of those people getting intensive care.

The province says it set the highest one-day total for tests processed on Thursday as 4,623 were processed.

1,155 variants of concern (VOC) have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan. 973 of those are in the Regina zone with 70 in the south-central and 69 in the southeast zone.
