Sask. Wildlife Federation looking for used hunting, fishing equipment

With spring cleaning just around the corner the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation is hoping to raise funds for habitat lands purchases.

The Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation is once again accepting donations of guns, antlers and used hunting and fishing equipment. Darren Newberry, Director of Habitat Land for the SWF says donated items are then sold with proceeds going towards SWF’s Habitat Trust initiatives, which acquires and enhances habitat for wildlife, including species at risk.

Newberry says the SWF is grateful for the support and assistance with the program over the years. He says over the course of 20 years, SWF’s Guns for Habitat and Antlers for Habitat initiatives have raised over $250,000. With matching program the SWF reports that number doubles.

Anyone who is interested can contact the SWF to arrange for a COVID friendly pick-up or drop-off and a tax-deductible receipt is issued to the donor upon sale of the antlers or equipment.
