The Saskatchewan RCMP have announced they will now participate in Clare’s Law.

The law, which allows police services to provide disclosure information to a potential victim of interpersonal violence, came into effect in Saskatchewan in June of last year. At the time, the RCMP announced they could not participate due to the Privacy Act.

Over the last several months, the RCMP made changes to allow for victim services, relevant information and other resources could be disclosed for enhanced safety.

Clare’s Law applications can now be made at any RCMP detachment in Saskatchewan by a person who feels they are at risk or by a third-party with a close relationship with a potential victim.
