Remembering the Humboldt Broncos on the 3rd anniversary of tragic crash

The City of Humboldt will be remembering those lost in the tragic Humboldt Broncos bus crash three years ago on this date.

A virtual service is being planned for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The service, which will be streamed on the City of Humboldt’s Facebook page, will include a candle lighting ceremony and performances by local artists.

Church bells will also ring before a moment of silence at around 4:50 which is when the accident occurred. Others are being asked to do the same thing.

Sixteen members of the team, including its head coach, bus driver and athletic therapist were killed in the crash with another 13 injured.

They were on their way to Nipawin for a playoff game when the accident occurred at the intersection of Highways 35 and 335.
