Agriculture minister David Marit says this week’s snowfall will help with seed germination this spring.
Marit adds the snowfall will also improve pasture conditions in the dry southern areas of the province.
He says the snowfall adds optimism to the farming community.
The threat of wildfires is also reduced.
Environment Canada says south and eastern areas of Saskatchewan received 10 to 25 centimeters of snowfall this week.
Saskatoon and Prince Albert had three centimeters.
