Two arrested after Regina weapons investigation

Early Saturday morning, Regina Police conducted an investigation regarding a firearm offence in the city’s North Central.

Around 1:30 am, police were led to an address on the 1200 block of Cameron Street, where three men were taken into custody without incident.

A search of the residence produced a firearm along with ammunition. After further investigation, one of the three suspects was let go.

24-year-old Gerald Keenatch has been charged with the possession of a firearm knowing he is not the license holder, possession of a firearm while prohibited, possession of ammunition while prohibited, possession of a prohibited device, and the unsafe storage of a firearm.

22-year-old Francis Desjarlais has been charged with the possession of a firearm not being the license holder, possession of a prohibited device, and the unsafe storage of a firearm.

Both Keenatch and Desjarlais are scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.
