Saskatchewan producers are welcoming a new canola crushing plant for Regina.
Viterra has announced it will build a 2.5 million ton canola processing facility in Regina, making it the world’s largest integrated canola crush facility.
Thats in addition to Cargill’s one million ton, $350 million plant for Regina, announced last week.
APAS president Todd Lewis says farmers will benefit from increased competition for their crop.
The Viterra and Cargill plants are expected to be in operation in 2024.
