Rules for things like graduation and sports in the province’s ‘ReOpen Saskatchewan” plan have been tweaked.
The province says in-person graduations can take place outdoors, but they must be limited to 30 guests plus five teachers or support staff.
Graduations can also be held virtually with a maximum of 30 graduates attending in person. All guests must attend virtually.
The guidance for graduations in June will be re-evaluated May 17 based on what the COVID-19 picture looks like at that time.
When it comes to sports, competition is still prohibited at this time for all ages in team sports, but the age limit on group training and conditioning is being removed meaning teams and individual athletes over the age of 19 can train in groups of eight with one or two coaches.
Dance has now been moved from sports to the performing arts category with the same protocols in place for those 19 and over.
There are also some changes for restaurants and licensed establishments.
There is no need for physical barriers required for outdoor seating areas, like patios, as long as customers are physically distanced.
Only one party is permitted at each table and there must be a plan for “inclement weather” so that physical distancing is maintained should guests have to go inside. The changes for restaurants and licenced establishments are not in effect for Regina right now because of tougher measures currently in place.
