Saskatchewan feeder cattle prices were mixed this past week.

The latest report from the ministry of Agriculture says feeder steers were mainly higher.

The largest price increase was in the 300 to 400 pound category, increasing $7.66 per hundredweight.

The weekly average steer price was $216.80 per hundredweight in Saskatchewan.

Feeder heifers were mainly lower across all the reported weight categories.

The weekly average heifer price was $191.25 per hundredweight.

Acting Provincial Cattle specialist Natasha Wilkie says rising feed costs are putting a damper on cattle futures.
