APAS pushes for new grain export sales reporting program

APAS is pushing for creation of a new grain export sales reporting program.

President Todd Lewis says farmers need much better timely information about export grain shipments and sales commitments.

He says the information is essential when producers are deciding what to grow and when to sell their crops.

APAS also wants greater federal funding for the Canadian Grain Commission and modernize the grain grading system.

The proposals are part of a submission to the federal review of the Canada Grain Act.

The consultation deadline is this Friday, April 30.
