A Regina man is facing charges after sending a threatening email to the federal government.
The letter was received by the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s office in Ottawa on May 1 and was forwarded to the RPS on May 5.
At about 10:00 a.m. on May 5, Regina Police received a call from Trudeau’s office saying they received an email containing threats of damage to the Legislative Building and Queen’s Bench Court, as well as threats to the safety of an out-of-province doctor and a retired judge.
An investigation into the email led to the residence of a 59-year-old man, who was arrested without incident.
59-year-old Harold Christopher Charles Ringline has been charged with one global charge of uttering threats. He made his first court appearance on Thursday morning.
