With low temperatures and rain in the forecast for Thursday night, Environment Canada has issued freezing rain warnings for southern Saskatchewan.

Regina is included in the warning, as well as Moose Jaw, Yorkton, Assiniboia, and Fort Qu’Appelle, including their surrounding areas.

Environment Canada says with a low pressure system coming up from Montana, freezing rain is expected to fall Thursday night and Friday morning before heading east. The system is also expected to cause some thunderstorms.

Residents are advised to be careful on highways, roads, walkways and parking lots, as they are set to become slippery.

Snowfall warnings added for central Saskatchewan

While freezing rain is expected in southern Saskatchewan, Environment Canada says residents in central Saskatchewan are now under a snowfall warning.

That area includes Melfort, Humboldt, Hudson Bay, Kamsack, Outlook and Watrous, as well as their surrounding areas.

Those warnings are in addition to the snowfall warnings issued for southwest Saskatchewan. Up to 15 cm of snow is expected.

On top of all of this, Prince Albert and area is still dealing with an air quality advisory due to the Cloverdale wildfire.
