Saskatchewan MP Tom Lukiwski will not seek re-election

A long-time Saskatchewan politician says it is time for new blood.

After first being elected to the House of Commons in 2004, Conservative MP Tom Lukiwski is announcing he will not seek re-election in the next federal election.

Lukiwski, who represents Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan, first went to Ottawa as the MP in Regina-Lumsden-Lake Centre where he won four times before the riding boundaries were changed. He then won two more times.

In a release, Lukiwski says it is simply time and that while this has been the greatest chapter of his life, every chapter must end and it is time for a new voice to keep the Conservative cause strong in Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan,
