Lot of Saskatchewan talent available for NHL draft

NHL Central Scouting released its final rankings for the July draft earlier this week and there are several names on it that would be familiar to Saskatchewan hockey fans.

When the list of North American skaters came out, Regina’s Cole Sillinger was ranked 10th.  Sillinger went to the USHL to play for Sioux City this season and it was a solid season as he had 46 points in 31 games.  It is expected he will return to the Medicine Hat Tigers for the 2021-22 season if he does not stick in the NHL.

Moose Jaw’s Ryder Korczak (Yorkton) and Prince Albert’s Nolan Allan (Davidson) also make the top 40 with Korczak coming in ranked 34th and Allan 40th.

Pats defenceman Ryker Evans, who would be drafted as a 19-year-old, is listed at 191st.  Evans is coming off a season where he tied for the club’s scoring lead and was one of the top blueliners in the league.
