Bedard and Evans make WHL East Division All-Star Team

The Western Hockey League is starting to name year-end award winners and all-star teams.

On Monday, the East Division all-star team was announced with two members of the Regina Pats making the squad.

15-year-old Connor Bedard did not disappoint in his first season with the club.  Bedard was leading the league in scoring before leaving to represent Canada at the 2021 IIHF World Under-18 Championship in mid-April. The 15-year-old product of North Vancouver, B.C. finished with 28 points in 15 games played.

19-year-old Ryker Evans set a career best with 25 assists during the season, finishing second among WHL blueliners with 28 points which tied him with Bedard for the team scoring lead in the shortened 24 game season.

Others making the all-star team were goalie Nolan Maier (Yorkton) of the Saskatoon Blades, defenceman Braden Schneider (Prince Albert) of the Brandon Wheat Kings and forwards Ben McCartney of Brandon and Peyton Krebs of Winnipeg.
