Sask. government provides over half a million dollars for short line railways

The Scott Moe government is providing $530,000 to short line railways operating in Saskatchewan.

Agriculture Minister David Marit, says the funds cover up to 50 percent of eligible track and construction costs for the short line railways.

He says short lines are important for grain shipments and other products.

There are 13 short line railways in Saskatchewan, operating on 2,100 kilometers of track.
