The towns of Indian Head and Wolseley are mourning as are police forces across the country after an RCMP officer was killed while on-duty Saturday morning.
26-year-old Constable Shelby Patton of the Indian Head detachment was killed in Wolseley when he was struck by a truck he had stopped believing it had been stolen in Manitoba. Two suspects, an adult man and woman, were taken into custody a couple of hours later in a rural area near Francis.
At this time, the two, who have not been named, have not been charged. On Saturday, Saskatchewan RCMP Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore said while the RCMP knows the public has many questions, we are still in the initial stages of the investigation and can’t release more specific details.

Patton had been with the RCMP for almost six-and-a-half years.
