Co-op Hail to offer improved hailstorm data thanks to Winnipeg’s Weatherlogics

Regina-based Co-op Hail has partnered with Winnipeg-based Weatherlogics for hailstorm data sharing in 2021.

Co-op Hail’s CEO, Murray Bantle, says farmers will benefit from improved awareness about hail storms across the province.

“We’ll have advanced knowledge of maybe the type of hail or kind of storm that it was,” said Bantle. “We still have to put an adjuster in the field, but really it comes down to giving us information that we would have better advance, than just what Environment Canada provides to us.”

Bantle says there have been a few hail storms already this growing season in Saskatchewan but usually there is good crop recovery.
