Regina man Tasered after threatening police with a kitchen knife

A Regina man is in custody after being Tasered Sunday by police.

Just before 1:00 am Sunday morning, RPS officers were dispatched to a home on 12th Avenue for a report of an unwanted guest.

Information suggested a man was causing problems trying to fight people inside of an apartment and residents wanted him gone.

Police arrived and were confronted by a man holding a kitchen knife. The man was in an agitated state and confrontational with officers. The man approached police with the knife and didn’t obey commands to drop it.

Police then deployed a Taser which was effective in allowing police to arrest the man safely. He sustained minor injuries and was treated in hospital.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
