Hail strikes fields near Regina and Bengough Monday night

Hail has dropped a heavy blow on some areas around Regina Monday night.

Garry Brandt farms 10 miles north of Craven, and says the storm blew in just after 8:00 last night.

He says the hail was at least golf ball in size, and took out windows on the west side of his house and garage.

As well, he says the siding may need to be replaced.

Brandt says the storm completely flattened his crop, which otherwise was struggling due to a lack of moisture.

He adds there was also a lot of rain, more than 25 millimeters.

There’s also reports of sizeable hail, larger than golf balls, near Bengough, 90 minutes south of Regina.
