Ethan Bear of the Ochapowace First Nation has a new NHL team.

On Wednesday morning, the Edmonton Oilers traded Bear to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for forward Warren Foegele.

The 24-year-old had eight points in 43 games with the Oilers last season and was victimized on social media with racist comments levelled against him in actions that were condemned by the Oilers and many others.

In 132 NHL games, Bear had 33 points.
