Active COVID-19 case count increases in Saskatchewan

Another 56 new cases of COVID-19 are being reported Friday in Saskatchewan.

The new cases are located in Saskatoon (13), the Far North East (11), the Far North West (eight), the South East (six), the Central West (four), Regina (two), the North West (two), the South Central (two), and the Far North Central (one).

Four cases were reassigned; two to the North Central and two to the Far North West. Two Saskatchewan residents tested positive out-of-province. They have both been added to Saskatoon’s total case count.

Twenty-two more people have recovered, but the active case count is up to 448.

The death toll remains at 578. The seven-day-average of daily new cases is up to 45.

There are 46 people in hospital with COVID-19, including 12 in ICU.

Another 1,779 COVID-19 tests were processed Thursday in Saskatchewan.

Another 5,345 doses of COVID vaccines were administered in Saskatchewan. That includes 1,082 first doses and 4,263 second doses.
