Vaughn put on six game IL as Riders release depth chart for Friday’s game

Rider fans have just one more sleep before they can see their favourite football team back in action.

The green-and-white will step on the field for the first time since the 2019 Western Final Friday night when they butt helmets against the B.C Lions in a 7:30 start with our pre-game coverage on 620 CKRM starting at 4:30.

The team released its depth chart for the game on Thursday.

It shows rookie Garrett Marino, who was one of the stars at camp, will start alongside Micah Johnson on the interior defensive line with former Regina Ram Mitch Picton serving as one of the wideouts.

There will be four Canadian offensive linemen protecting Cody Fajardo with one of  those four being rookie Logan Ferland. He will start the game at left guard.

One player who will not be suiting up and won’t be for a while is offensive lineman Terran Vaughn.  He is still battling through a shoulder injury suffered in training camp and was put on the six-game injured list.  Receiver Justin McInnis, offensive lineman Mattland Riley and quarterback Paxton Lynch are also on the one-game injured list.
