Those connected with U of R Cougar Athletics in Regina and Huskie Athletics in Saskatoon will need to show proof of vaccination.

Canada West announced Friday it is establishing a proof of COVID-19 vaccination policy for the 2021-22 season. The policy, which member schools voted unanimously to adopt, goes into effect immediately.

The policy will require all Canada West participants to have received a first dose of an approved Health Canada or World Health Organization (WHO) COVID-19 vaccine by September 9. A second dose must be received no later than October 17 in order to continue participation in university sport activity between Canada West member institutions.

Canada West participants include all student-athletes, coaches, managers, medical staff, strength and conditioning coaches, all event staff and officials, in attendance at competitions.
