SARM welcomes new SaskTel partnership to improve rural internet service

SaskTel is taking more steps to improve rural internet service.

SaskTel has announced a new initiative to partner with internet providers to bring advanced broadband service to underserved farms, rural areas and Indigenous communities.

The president of the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities, Ray Orb, welcomes the new SaskTel program.

He says rural internet service needs improvement and is key for rural business and at home health care and education.

SaskTel says it has strong interest in the Rural Broadband Partnership Program from several rural internet providers, with H and K Rural Networks, Living Sky Internet and Wood River Controls already signed on.
