The September weather stats from Environment Canada are in and as expected September was a very warm month in Saskatchewan. Saskatoon recorded its 14th warmest September on record with a monthly mean temperature of 13.7 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Prince Albert recorded its 11th warmest September ever with a monthly mean temperature of 12.8.

Terri Lang with Environment Canada says the warm weather is expected to stick around for the first bit of October. “It does look like we’re going to start the month of October off quite warm and that trend looks to continue from the indications that we have and it will likely continue into the next 7 to 10 days.”

When it came to precipitation, Saskatoon recorded 5.6mm in the month of September, normally the Bridge City receives 35.4 on average. In fact, all of Environment Canada’s weather centres in the province recorded less rain than that of what normally falls for September.

Regina which typically sees 32.8 millimetres received less than a millimetre with 0.8. 11 weather centres in the province recorded top 20 warmest Septembers in Saskatchewan.
