Ontario man charged with impaired driving after semi rollover outside of Moose Jaw

Moose Jaw Police attended to a semi rollover on Highway #1 east Saturday night.

Police — along with Fire and EMS crews — responded to the scene at about 9:00 PM, where it was determined the semi tractor-trailer unit collided with the overpass guard rail and rolled. Alcohol was a factor in the collision.

As a result, an unnamed 25-year-old driver from Ontario has been charged with impaired driving and failing to comply with a breath demand. The driver was treated for minor injuries on scene.

Damages are estimated to be $400,000.

The eastbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway from Thatcher Drive East to Caribou Street East have been re-routed for the time being as the investigation continues. The public is asked to avoid the area until further notice.
