Broadview RCMP were able to nab a suspect connected to a Regina Police investigation last week.
On the morning of Sept. 28, RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle heading east on Highway #1. The stolen vehicle was first reported as part of an RPS investigation.
While officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect fled the scene. Further investigation led to a search of a residence on the Ochapawace First Nation where the suspect was located and arrested. The suspect was found to be in possession of two firearms and a machete, which were all seized.
As a result, 29-year-old Tyler Lavallee faces the following charges:
- Insecure storage of a firearm (X2),
- Possession of a restricted weapon (X2),
- Unlicensed possession of a restricted firearm,
- Unlicensed possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition,
- Possession of a restricted weapon knowing it was obtained by the commission of an offence,
- Possession of a weapon while prohibited (X9),
- Operate a conveyance while prohibited,
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance,
- Fail to stop for peace officer.
Lavallee also faces the following charges in connection to three incidents in Regina:
In relation to Aug. 28, 2021 events:
- Fail to stop or remain,
- Operate conveyance contrary to prohibition order,
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device in a motor vehicle,
- Careless storage of firearm,
- Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition,
- Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order (X3),
- Possess ammunition contrary to prohibition order.
In relation to Sept. 5, 2021 events:
- Kidnapping,
- Use of imitation firearm during commission of indictable offence,
- Uttering threats.
In relation to Sept. 21, 2021:
- Flight from peace officer.
Lavallee has two separate court dates for his charges. He has already made his first court appearance for the charges he faces in Regina, and he will appear in court again for his Broadview incident-related charges on Oct. 8.
