Five new deaths; 445 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan

The province is telling us 445 new COVID-19 infections were diagnosed Sunday with five more people passing away because of the virus bringing the provincial total to 716.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (14), Far North Central (1), Far North East (18), North West (39), North Central (35), North East (16), Saskatoon (116), Central West (6), Central East (29), Regina (90), South West (26), South Central (7) and South East (33) zones and fifteen (15) new cases have pending residence information

Of the 445 new cases, 334 are in people who have not been vaccinated including 94 in the 0-11 age bracket who can’t be vaccinated due to their age.

Hospitalizations are up again as 325 people including 75 in the ICU are getting COVID-19 related care.  Of those 325, 250 were not fully vaccinated.

2,500 vaccines were handed out Sunday. Of those 2,500, 1,283 were first doses.
