The Saskatchewan government has proclaimed October as Agriculture month across the province.

Agriculture minister David Marit says farming and food supply is important to consumers and the economic growth of the province.

Marit recognizes the contributions from farming and wants to raise consumer understanding and trust in modern food production.

Marit says it is important for farmers to connect with consumers.

He says there will be several events aimed at recognizing the contributions from farming. This year’s theme is Celebrate Ag.
