Sask. Science Centre brings in exhibit that explores the history of video games

The Saskatchewan Science Centre is bringing a new exhibit to their facility titled Game Changers.

Vice-President of Operations Ryan Holota says it seeks to tell the story of video games.

“It includes examples of more than 120 games from the 1970’s to today, and it not only tells the story about the games, but also about the science and the technology that goes into creating those games.”

Holota says this exhibit isn’t just for the kids.

“Definitely adults will take a trip down memory lane as they see some of these games,” Holota said. “This might be the first opportunity that they have to share some of these games with their kids or just to come visit on their own and just kind of remember what it was like to play those games — maybe at the arcade — when they were younger.”

COVID-19 measures will be in effect, such as staggered time slots for visitors and mandatory masks. The exhibit will run until Jan. 9, 2022.
