Four more seats could soon be added to the House of Commons

Saskatchewan would not gain any seats as the House of Commons seat count is set to be increased as early as 2024.

Canadians will be choosing 342 elected officials instead of the current 338.

B.C. would gain one seat as well as Ontario, while Alberta would gain three seats. Quebec would lose a seat. The rest of the provinces and territories would see no change.

The recalculation of the number of seats in the House of Commons happens every 10 years to account for changes in the Canadian population. The new electoral map is expected to be completed in October of 2023.
