Taser needed to end incident in downtown Regina

A 54 year old Regina man had to be tasered by Regina Police late Saturday night to bring an incident under control.

Police say they were sent to the 2100 block of Rose Street just before midnight after getting a report of an unwanted guest. Upon arrival, officers tried to arrest the man, but he became aggressive and would not listen to police commands resulting in a taser being used.

Douglas Russell is charged with assaulting a peace officer and will be in court Monday.
