Regina man faces charges for uttering threats

A Regina man is facing charges after a police investigation into an email message that allegedly threatened the lives of an elected official and an official with the Ministry of Health.

On Monday, October 4, Regina Police Service received a report of a threatening email received by several people. The e-mail allegedly contained non-specific threats to the lives and safety of government officials and law enforcement, but also mentioned two Saskatchewan individuals by name. The message was sent from a fake account

An investigation lead to police executing a search warrant in a Regina residence on October 15.

38 year old Tobechi Okwuonu is facing two charges of uttering threats.

He will be making his first court appearance on December 1.
