Regina Police issue charges after explosives incident Monday

Charges have been issued against a 30-year-old Regina man after a suspicious package was found at a business on the 600 block of Albert Street Monday afternoon forcing a section of road to be closed while the explosives unit came in to investigate.

Police say a man had initially been detained for shoplifting and a bag that they had contained items thought to be suspicious in nature.   The bag was moved to an access-controlled area with the explosives unit dealing with the package and its materials without incident.

Steven Hepper will make his first court appearance on the charges he faces Tuesday afternoon.
