Province approves SaskEnergy’s rate increase

The Saskatchewan government has approved SaskEnergy’s commodity rate increase.

It will be the first increase in seven years, after four consecutive decreases.

The average household will see their bill increase by $6.16 per month.

SaskEnergy says that means an increase from $2.575/gigajoule to $3.20/GJ.

The Crown says the new rate will still be the lowest in Canada.
