Police are investigating an attempted child abduction that took place in the Uplands neighbourhood in Regina.
Police were called to the corner of 12th Avenue North and Fairview Road, where it is alleged a nine-year-old girl was walking back to school when she was approached from behind by an adult man who grabbed the child.
The girl was able to push away from the suspect and ran to the school to report the incident. Nearby, a red truck was running with the door open.
The suspect is described as a white man between the ages of 40 and 50, about 6 feet tall with brown and grey medium-length hair. He had tattoos on both arms. The man was wearing a tank top with dirty, stained pants.
Schools in the area were notified. Police presence in the area has been increased near the schools.
