A study by Pfizer which has been released by the FDA, says that kid sized doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine appear to be safe and are more than 90 percent effective at preventing symptoms of the disease in children between five and 11.
Pfizer vaccines are already authorized for children 12 and up in Canada and the U.S..
A study done by Pfizer tracked 2,268 kids between five and 11 who got two shots three weeks apart of either a placebo or low-dose vaccine, that is one third the amount used for people 12 and up.
The study says no severe illnesses were reported among any of the children, and the vaccinated ones had much more mild symptoms than their unvaccinated counterparts.
According to the CDC over 630 Americans under 18 have died after testing positive for COVID-19.

Results from Pfizer’s study will be debated by advisers to the FDA next week.
