The Port of Churchill will not be moving any grain for the next couple of years.
The new owners, a group of 29 indigenous and a dozen non-indigenous communities are part of the Arctic Gateway group.
An extensive rehab of the rail-line will take place that will include efforts to stabilize the track bed that sits on top of muskeg. Most of the work will be on the stretch from Gillam to Churchill.
Repairs are also being made to the roof of the 92 year old grain terminal, which is in otherwise good condition.
