The mayor’s chair in Moose Jaw gets filled on Wednesday.
People in the city head to the polls in a byelection to elect a new mayor, with nine candidates seeking to replace Fraser Tolmie.
Tolmie stepped down as mayor in August to take what was a successful run at federal politics, as he now the Conservative MP in the riding of Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan.
Three current city councilors, Crystal Froese, Kim Robinson and Heather Eby, are amongst the nine looking to become mayor.
If one of those three should win, Moose Jaw residents will have to go to the polls again to fill that spot on city council.
The polls open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m..
