On Tuesday, people across Saskatchewan heard about the benefits the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon have had for many and more of the same will be heard on Wednesday as the two-day event winds up on 620 CKRM and other radio stations across the province at 5:00 p.m..

One of the stories told was that of Maverick Duffy of Weyburn. He was born early after it was learned he had an alarmingly low fetal heart rate which led to heart surgery having to be performed.

His mother, Ashley Koszman, says having the hospital in Saskatchewan is a great relief for her family and many others who are in need.

“Having the hospital in-province is so important because it helps us and other families who have to travel.” Koszman said. “If it means only having to travel 3-4 hours depending on where you are to get to appointment instead of 9-10 hours especially if Maverick is in need of urgent help for something.
